
On February 20, 2025, the challenge list for the 2025 "GoldenKey · SGCC Special" was officially announced, marking the fourth session of the campaign.
Co-organized by State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC) and China Sustainability Tribune, the 2025 campaign continues to focus on global sustainability challenges, aligning with both international and domestic hotspots and difficulties in sustainable development. In response to the high-quality growth demands of the power grid industry, this year’s event features two key tracks: "Contributing to Climate Action" and "Engaging in Social Governance" .
Submitted solutions must highlight concrete problems, innovative solutions, and measurable impacts, serving as exemplary models for sustainable development. The best solutions will be showcased as "State Grid Solutions" and "China Solutions" on multiple platforms.
Challenge List Details
1. Contributing to Climate Action: Channeling Society Toward Energy Efficiency & Carbon Reduction
Context: To contribute to China’s carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals, this track addresses global energy transition challenges. It emphasizes leveraging State Grid’s technological and operational strengths to promote energy conservation, electrification, and green energy adoption. Promoting the development of new energy and channeling towards green and low-carbon practices is a key focus and innovation point for effectively addressing global climate change.
Call for: Innovative, exemplary actions that facilitate the transformation of energy consumption practices, and expand services for energy conservation, carbon reduction and efficiency improvement.
2. Engaging in Social Governance: Smart & Collaborative Problem-Solving
Context: As a critical player in social governance, Grid companies must tackle complex societal challenges through its power supply services. This track seeks smart, effective, and inclusive solutions that strengthen community co-creation, co-governance, and shared benefits.
Call for: Innovative, exemplary actions that are targeted, effective, and smart when engaging in social governance with positive results.

The 2025 event will adhere to the "GoldenKey AMIVE criteria" to select the most impactful solutions. Winning entries will have the chance to:
Be included in the State Grid SDG Solutions
Gain exposure at COP30 (UN Climate Change Conference) and the Carbon Expo.
Be promoted through GoldenKey Delegation Tour to State Grid, enhancing China’s global sustainability leadership.
Background & Past Success
Since its launch in 2022, the event has received 605 submissions, with 200 standout solutions included in the State Grid SDG Solutions in four volumes. Many have been featured at UN climate conferences, demonstrating China’s commitment to sustainable energy innovation
